Adult Training and Employment Program
REO is a non-profit corporation serving workers throughout
Montana, one of more than 50 agencies nation-wide that operate
the National Farmworker Jobs Program authorized by Congress.
Most participants have a long-term history of ag employment,
but work only seasonally and have annual earnings of less than
$7,500.
About 100 participants each year (mostly non-migrant workers)
receive intensive assessment, employment and training services.
Historically, the success rate for these workers entering non-subsidized
employment is over 70 percent. In addition, migrant workers
involved in Montana’s
cherry and sugar beet harvests are provided with critical
support services.
REO also provides:
- MIGRANT YOUTH EDUCATION & EMPLOYMENT,
including night school for students aged 14-21 years, job
shadowing, and confidence building. REO hosts a leadership
conference for youth each summer.
- THE TECHMOBILE, a learning support and
mobile computer facility for schools serving migrant students
and youth living in rural communities.
- PROJECT MASTERY, a program to identify
migrant students and qualify rural schools for access to
valuable learning materials and a lending library.
